The 3rd chapter of this letter begins with the word “therefore”.  Therefore is a connecting word; it serves to show us that there must be a connection between what is being written with what was written.  The first 2 chapters of Colossians dealt with doctrine- with what we believe. What does Paul say our doctrine must connect with? Our behavior.  What we believe must impact how we behave… and in this passage we’ll see that Paul gives us 3 directions to help sync those things up.
