NAF #4 The Uncomfortable Cross

We live in culture addicted to comfort.  We sleep on Temperpedic beds with out memory foam pillows and watch tv from electric message recliners.  We shouldn't be surprised to discover that the love of comfort has infiltrated the church.  Not that comfortability is wrong in itself, but caution must be exercised that we don't to worship and pursue comfort to the detriment of our faith.  What do you suppose people seeking comfortable religion do with the invitation of Jesus to "deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me"?  Listen here as we discuss that very question.

    The Will of God

Game planLast week James talked in chapter 4 about War: War with each other, was within ourselves, and ultimate war with God.  This week the chapter continues and James instructs about the will of God.  We may wonder what the 2 things have to do with each other- the answer is found in a man named Jonah.  Jonah rebelled against the will of God and it put Him at war with God- James warns about the kinds of attitudes toward the will of God that put us in the same position- AND he also tells us what our attitude OUGHT to be concerning the Will of God.
